Who we are
At Geelong’s Dog Whisperer, we believe every dog can learn, grow, and live a balanced life. Our goal is to build stronger relationships between dogs and their owners through clear communication, consistency, and trust.
Founded by Mikey, known to many as Geelong’s Blind Dog Whisperer, Geelong’s Dog Whisperer has been helping dogs of all breeds and temperaments since 2016. Mikey is vision impaired, but that’s never held him back. His patience, focus, and understanding of canine behaviour have made him one of the most respected trainers in the region.
Mikey’s journey began in 2011 when he started studying dog behaviour and psychology. Over the years, he’s proven that clear communication and calm leadership can change any dog’s behaviour. His philosophy is simple: if he can teach dogs to change, you can learn to as well.
Mikey often works alongside his trusted dog, Bingo, who plays a key role in helping to rehabilitate and socialise other dogs. Bingo’s happy go lucky, and confident nature helps reactive or nervous dogs learn appropriate behaviour through example and interaction.
Every dog is different, so each training plan is tailored to fit the individual dog’s needs, temperament, and goals. Whether your dog needs help with obedience, behavioural issues, or socialisation, Mikey’s programs create real results and build lasting trust between dogs and owners.
Training takes place in real-life environments, including our working farm. This setting helps dogs build confidence and social skills around other animals such as sheep, cows, horses, alpacas, goats, and chooks. It’s the perfect space for dogs to learn calm and respectful behaviour in every situation.

Meet Bingo
Every great trainer needs a great partner—and for Mikey, that partner is Bingo.
Bingo is more than just Mikey’s dog. He’s an important part of the training team at Geelong’s Dog Whisperer. Calm, confident, and well-balanced, Bingo helps other dogs learn how to behave through example and interaction.
When working with reactive, anxious, or unsocial dogs, Bingo steps in as a role model. His steady energy helps other dogs relax, focus, and understand what calm behaviour looks like. He plays a key part in rebuilding trust and teaching dogs how to communicate properly in social situations.
Whether it’s greeting a nervous dog for the first time or walking side-by-side with one that struggles to stay calm, Bingo brings out the best in every dog he meets.
Bingo reminds us that sometimes, the best teacher for a dog is another dog.
The Little Girl Who Inspired Our Mission
Our core philosophy at Geelong's Dog Whisperer is rooted in a deeply personal and meaningful legacy, captured by the acronym of our defining values: the Social, Obedient, Friendly, Intelligent, and Attentive dog. These principles are a heartfelt tribute to the unforgettable Sofia, the cherished daughter of Mikey, the Geelong Blind Dog Whisperer. Even in her tragically short life, Sofia possessed a profound intuition and connection with canines, and she was set to become his protégé, working alongside him in the vital work of dog training and behavioral rehabilitation. Heartbreakingly, Sofia’s promising life was cut short on June 8th, 2025, at the age of four and a half years, due to pulmonary hypertension and lung disease. Her time was way too brief, and her beautiful spirit now serves as the permanent and guiding inspiration for our entire mission.
Sofia’s extraordinary love for all canines—a passion that saw her drawn to big, intimidating-looking dogs despite her small size—is the soul of our commitment to acceptance and understanding in dog training. She saw the potential in every dog, and it is in her honor that we proudly say, "Bingo Was Born For Her." She also adored the farm, which is now our dedicated training facility, embracing every animal that called it home. While her time was brief, the depth of her passion for dogs has become the enduring foundation of our business. Her initials, S.O.F.I.A., are more than just a list of values; they are the living blueprint for the balanced, loving, and well-adjusted companion dogs we strive to create for every family.
